The FSSA is preparing to lead a major push in the state legislature to change the statutes regarding self-storage lien notifications, value limits on stored property, and lien sale advertisement. We estimate that the proposed changes could save individual facilities an average of nearly $1,200 each year. Total savings statewide could equal $3.5 million annually.
The FSSA is actively working in Tallahassee on your behalf to get a bill before the legislature before the end of the current session on April 30.
How You Can Help
Support the FSSA’s efforts to change the state’s self-storage lien laws by making a donation to our legislative action team.
We need your help to raise $20,000 to meet our overall goal of $60,000. The national Self Storage Association has pledged to contribute $15,000 to help us get started as well as additional funds including dollar-for-dollar matching of FSSA member contributions.
Please click the “Donate Now!” button to make a secure contribution to this cause. We will post updated contribution totals on this Web site, so check back frequently to view our progress.
Thank you for supporting your association. Together, we can have our voices heard and acted on!
